In
2001 MSI were approached by a yacht builder to design a quiet fan to
duct stale air from their heads (bathroom). They found an excellent
source of DC brushless axial cooling fan and mated it to a special PG
mounting receiver. As in all of their PG receivers it mounts on the
finished side of the wall and their plastic framed grille is "snapped"
into the receiver and held with stainless steel spring catches. The
standard receiver (shown below) also includes a 4" hose ring for routing
the stale air outside.
Other versions are being used to ventilate electronics cabinets, generators, and to move conditioned air.
