Corrosion Hesitant Heater

Stainless steel construction makes it ideally suited where corrosion resistance is needed such as marine vessels or other high humidity areas. A typical marine vessel application is mounting through a bulkhead or plywood cabinet.

Engineering Specs

Contractor shall supply and install MKT Series limited space-mounted forced-air electric heaters manufactured by King Electrical Mfg. Company. Heaters shall be of the wattage and voltage as indicated on the plans.

Motor: Thermally protected and permanently lubricated.

Fan: Tangential (squirrel cage) blower provides whisper-quiet operation at 70 CFM.

Element: Dual wattage element allows for field adjustment. Made from Ni-Chrome alloy open-coil wire wrapped around a mica insulator.

Thermal Cutout: Safety limit turns off power to the element if it overheats and automatically resets.

Thermal Overload: Heaters shall be equipped with thermal overload Smart Limit Protection®, which disconnects elements and motor in the event normal operating temperatures are exceeded. If thermal overload trips due to abnormal operating temperatures, thermal overload shall remain open until manually reset by turning the heater off for fifteen minutes. Automatic reset of thermal overloads, which allow the element to continue to cycle under abnormal conditions, will not be accepted.

Wall-box: 20 gauge type 304 brushed stainless steel. All fasteners and hardware are stainless steel. Zero clearance to floors and 6” to sidewalls. Zero clearance to combustibles.

Grill: 20 gauge 304 stainless steel, clear epoxy finish.

Options: 1-Pole or 2-Pole unit-mount thermostat 45 – 80°F operating range and overlap grill.
